Vira FAQ

Everything you need to know about using Vira Fitness.

Getting Started

What is Vira Fitness?
Vira is a fitness app that helps you build workout plans, log your workouts in real time, track your progress, and share it all with friends. Whether you're into weight training, HIIT, functional fitness, or just getting started, Vira gives you the tools to stay organized and motivated.
How do I get started?
After signing up, you'll see a welcome screen with the option to take a guided tour or explore on your own. If you take the tour, we'll walk you through every feature step by step. At the end of onboarding, you'll choose a starter template to build around — or you can skip that and build your own plan from scratch.
What are the starter plan templates?
During onboarding, you can pick from three starter templates: a Push/Pull/Legs split, a 3-Day Full Body plan, or a Functional & HIIT plan. These are designed to give you a solid foundation you can build around. You can edit and customize every aspect of your chosen template to make it your own at any time — change exercises, sets, reps, equipment, or anything else.
Can I skip the starter template and build my own plan?
Absolutely. During onboarding you can tap "I'll build my own plan" to skip the templates. You'll be asked if you want to jump straight into the plan builder or start fresh from the home screen. Either way, you're in full control.

Workout Plans

Where are my workout plans?
Your workout plans live on your Profile page. You'll see your active plan displayed there with its name and the workouts it contains. Tap on a plan to see all the details.
How do I create a new plan?
On your Profile page, tap the green "+" button next to the "Workout Plans" header. This opens the plan builder where you can create a fully custom workout plan from scratch — add workouts, exercises, sets, reps, equipment, warmup sets, supersets, and more.
How do I edit a plan?
On your Profile page, tap the three dots (⋮) on any workout plan card and select "Edit." From there you can rename the plan, update its description, add or remove workouts, and change exercises, sets, reps, equipment, and more. The plan name and description fields are fully editable — just tap them to start typing.
How do I delete a plan?
On your Profile page, tap the three dots (⋮) on a workout plan card and select "Delete." You'll be asked to confirm before the plan is removed.
What are supersets?
A superset groups two or more exercises together so you perform them back-to-back with no rest in between. When building or editing a plan, you can combine exercises into a superset. During logging, superset exercises appear grouped together so you can track them as a unit.
What equipment options are available?
Each exercise can be configured with an equipment type: Barbell, Dumbbell, Cable, Machine, Smith Machine, Weight Belt, Bodyweight, or Other. This helps you keep track of exactly how you're performing each movement. Bodyweight exercises automatically skip the weight input since it doesn't apply.
How do I share a plan with friends?
On your Profile page, tap the share button at the bottom of your plan card. You can share directly with your followers inside the app, or send a link via text or any messaging app. Anyone with the link can view and import the plan into their own account.
Can I browse plans shared by others?
Yes! The Workout Plan Library lets you browse plans shared by the community. You can view the full details of any plan and import it into your own account to use or customize.

Logging Workouts

How do I start a workout?
On the Home screen, you'll see your next scheduled workout from your active plan. Tap the green "Start Workout" button to begin logging. The app auto-advances to the next workout in your plan after each session.
How do I change which workout to log?
On the Home screen, tap the three dots (⋯) on the "Next Workout" widget. This lets you pick a different workout from your plan to log next.
How do I log sets, reps, and weight?
Once you start a workout, each exercise appears as a card. Tap a card to expand it and see your sets. Tap any weight or reps value to edit it — a numeric keyboard pops up so you can type the value directly. Previous values auto-fill the next time you do that exercise, so you always know what you lifted last time.
Can I add extra sets during a workout?
Yes! Tap the "+" button on any exercise to add another set. The new set will pre-fill with the same weight and reps as your last set, so you don't have to re-enter everything. Extra sets you add are remembered for next time — the app will show that many sets automatically the next time you do the exercise.
Can I add exercises during a workout?
Yes. While logging, you can add a new exercise to your session. Search for any exercise, pick your equipment and starting weight, and it gets added to the bottom of your workout. This is great for throwing in an extra movement on the fly.
Can I reorder exercises during a workout?
Yes! Long-press on a collapsed exercise card to drag and reorder it. This lets you adjust the order on the fly based on equipment availability or how you're feeling. Note: you'll need to collapse an exercise card before you can drag it.
What are warmup sets?
Warmup sets let you track lighter warm-up reps before your working sets. They appear above your regular sets and are styled differently so you can easily tell them apart. Warmup sets don't count toward your working set totals in progress tracking.
What are workout notes for?
Each exercise has a notes field where you can leave yourself a reminder. Notes carry over to the next time you do that exercise — great for things like "go up in weight" or "focus on form." You'll see your previous note the next time that exercise comes up.
How do I finish a workout?
When you're done, tap the "Finish Workout" button at the bottom of the logging screen. You'll have the option to share your completed workout to your activity feed for your followers to see.
Can I edit a workout after finishing it?
Yes. From your workout history, you can go back and edit the details of a completed workout — fix a typo in your reps, adjust a weight, or add a note you forgot. Your progress charts will update to reflect any changes.

Home Screen

What's on the Home screen?
The Home screen shows your next scheduled workout with a quick-start button, your activity feed with posts from people you follow, and a notification indicator. It's your central hub for jumping into a workout or seeing what your friends have been up to.
How do I refresh the Home screen?
Pull down on the Home screen to refresh. This updates your activity feed with the latest posts, refreshes your workout plans, and checks for new notifications — all in one swipe.
What are notifications for?
Notifications let you know when someone likes or comments on your workout posts, follows you, or shares a plan with you. Tap the bell icon on the Home screen to see all your recent notifications.

Progress Tracking

How do I track my workout history?
Go to the Progress page. The Workout Calendar shows which days you worked out with green dots. You can track your workout streak and see your monthly activity at a glance. Tap any day to see the details of that workout.
Can I track strength gains per exercise?
Yes! On the Progress page under "Exercise Progress," you can select any exercise and see a chart of your strength gains over time. This shows how your weight and reps have improved across sessions, making it easy to see your progress at a glance.
How does body weight tracking work?
On the Progress page, switch to the "Weight" tab. Here you can log your body weight over time, set a goal weight, and track trends with a chart. Tap the "+" button to log a new entry. Over time you'll see a clear picture of your weight trend.
Can I view a full workout history?
Yes. From the Progress page you can access your full workout history — a scrollable list of every workout you've logged, with dates, exercises, and all the details. Great for looking back at what you've done over the weeks and months.
